Grief Support and Counselling
Grief is a normal, natural process that assists us to heal ourselves after experiencing any kind of loss, whether it be the loss of a loved one, relationship, a dream or one's health or job.
Grief can be major, lasting for long periods of time, or minor, causing distress for more limited periods. The way in which we respond to loss is unique to each and every one of us. I often think of grief as being sneaky. Grief always seeks a healthy outlet and if it is suppressed it can sneak into our lives at times when we least expect it. It can affect the way in which we perceive and approach our everyday lives, having an impact on our relationships with others, and knocking us around physically. |
Symptoms of unprocessed grief can be wide-ranging from constant or sudden outbursts of crying to simply being more snappy or irritable than usual. Although grief can seem scary, when healthily expressed in a supportive and healing environment, the opportunity to invite new, fresh energy and positive direction into your life naturally emerges. Forging a new understanding of your loss is oftentimes a positive consequence of this.
If you have recently experienced a major loss or suspect you are dealing with unprocessed grief in your life, I offer a grief support and counselling service. Feel free to contact me below with any further questions or inquiries regarding this service. |
